Summer Vans shoe's baby
The Vans OTW Alcon in wool is OTW Advocate Chris Kong’s favorite sneaker this season. Chris joined the Vans OTW Advocate team in January 2012 alongside creative forces Lupe Fiasco, Eric Elms and Dimitri Coste and be seen wearing the Alcon, Alomar and OTW Washburn Backpack as he treks the globe discovering his inspiration and new ways of creating his art and designs.
Over in Japan, the Vans Diversity store has arrived at the Tokyo Diversity Plaza. For the occasion, three exclusive makeups have been designed, all inspired from the picturesque summer in Odaiba of Tokyo. They all represent the gradients of day and night over natural landscape; red being sunrise and brown being the sunset, both over touches of blue, and the the predominant blue colorway being the sun and clouds of the landform. These are to be released next month on August 11.
And for the gals. New from the Vans California Collection is the LP Slip-On in Camo. This low profile slip-on features a washed camouflage canvas upper with a jute rope wrapped outsole, set atop the classic Vans waffle sole. Available now at The General.
Another one of Vans‘ highlights for 2012, the Van Doren pack, has just been released. The pack consists of some of the styles that Vans is known and loved globally including the Era, Slip-On and Sk-8 Hi. Each was done up with some classic prints dedicated to founder Steve Van Doren. You can pick these up now at DQM.
From the Vans California Summer 2012 Collection we present a new Era in a ‘Washed Paisley’ colorway. Shown here in a chocolate brown, the sneaker features a rather subtle all over print, which is special, yet easy to wear. The sneaker is now available online from Concepts.

My first art display
After doing these pieces I've learned a lot. Showing artwork, at least for me, is a lot of work and focus is required. It was the perfect motivation I needed to actually put some work in and get some final versions of the sketches I had waiting to be birthed. These pieces aren't necessarily what would go on my shirts exactly, but they are a great foundation for new renderings to be shirt ready. Now all I need is some paper and coins to make it happen. Please feel free to comment and be a constructive critic or give suggestions/input on things. All these pieces are being sold for a fundraiser I am planning so if you are interested in a purchase or just want to support my cause, email me at brettkitt.abel@gmail.com.
The foundation I am supporting is called "A child's voice" and the project where the funds will specifically be going is called "Angel hair for kids." It is a Canadian foundation exclusively focusing on supporting kids in low income families. Angel Hair For Kids is a project that provides wigs for kids going through chemo or who have rare diseases in which they lose all their hair. As a kid it can be fairly devestating to go bald and as a parent it can be fairly devestating to try and afford wigs, which can range in the thousands.

New styles
Get the sky blue and maroon colorways at 21 Mercer. They don't have a website, but here's a link to check them out anyway.
Also here is a link to the designer of this shoe: Marc Newson. This guy has huge influence these days, and I personally like his style a lot.
Here are 2 new Jordan shoes. The top is the Jordan 6 rings winterized boots for those who want to be ballin' and warm for the cold weather coming soon. Snowboarding is right around the corner. I'm giddy.
On the bottom we have the latest Jordan shoe in the Silver Anniversary Series. The shoe is a mash-up of all the shoes Mike wore during his his championship seasons: VI, VII, VII, XI, XII, XIII. In stores now.
